Whānau voice sits at the heart of
Te Pūhana Ora

Te Pūhana Ora is guided by the lived experiences, strengths, and aspirations of whānau living on Rēkohu | Wharekauri and Rangiauria | Rangihaute.

Whānau know what supports their wellbeing — and what makes it harder. Their voices shape how we advocate, influence, and work for change so that hauora fits island life, not the other way around.

“Your voices are being carried forward, not left behind.”

ABOUT

Who We Are

Te Pūhana Ora is the Iwi Māori Partnership Board for Rēkohu | Wharekauri, established under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022.

Our role is to ensure that whānau voice is heard, respected, and acted on within the health system. We do this by listening carefully to lived experience and advocating for change that reflects island realities.

We are guided by kaupapa Māori values, including manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga, and we treat whānau voice as taonga tuku iho.
